  El acero para herramientas D3 es una especie de acero para herramientas endurecido al aire, alto en carbono y alto en cromo, con excelente resistencia al desgaste, buena estabilidad dimensional y alta resistencia a la compresión.El acero para herramientas D3 puede ser tratado térmicamente con un rango de dureza de 58 - 64 HRC.Debido a su resistencia al desgaste en condiciones de endurecimiento, el mecanizado de acero para herramientas D3 debe limitarse a la molienda fina.

  D3 Tool Steel is an air hardening, high-carbon, high-chromium tool steel that displays excellent abrasion and wear resistance and has good dimensional stability and high compression strength. D3 Tool Steel is heat treatable and offers hardness in the range of 58-64 HRC. Due to its abrasion resistance in the hardened condition, D3 tool steel machining should be limited to finished grinding.
